A starry success!

One finial that has had a great reception since its launch last October is the Etoile.

Available in two simple colourways it is a larger finial than most of our range and has an unusual and elegant form.

Made up of layers of hand cut glass we love the way the light reflects on its faceted surface as you turn it, it reminded us of a jewel or cut polished mineral, which is why we named the clear version ‘crystal’ and the striped ‘obsidian’.

It can be used on any of our 30mm or 50mm poles and looks stunning on stainless steel.

As with the majority of our range the Etoile finial is held in stock and is available on a next day delivery service*.

Limited edition poles – coming soon!

We like to keep on top of the trends and we particularly love the metallics that we are seeing everywhere.

  This style mixes natural textures and tones with the vivid rare colours of the earth’s buried geology. Oily sheens and burnished metal characterise this look and we thought they could translate well to new collection of extra special pole finishes.

We are developing some new wrapped poles to this end! Launched in 2011, our unique wrapped and tracked poles have been enormously popular as designers look for that something a bit different to personalise their schemes.

A sleek new look for our 30mm collection

We encourage feedback about our products from our customers and this new ‘slot over’ finial adaptor (shown above on all the finials) is an example of how our range evolves to suit you.

All our 30mm finials are now available with a choice of adaptor.  Our new slot over adaptor ( above & below right) allows the finial to sit flush to the pole. Our original adaptor with stem is shown left and in our brochure.

We love this new look for our 30mm range, if you do too, simply specify our “slot over adaptors” on ordering at no extra cost.

A new take on the ready-made curtain

We’ve teamed up with local hand-printed fabric company Rapture & Wright and taken the ready made curtain one step further – with our ready to fit window sets.

You can choose from a variety of plain or patterned lambswools, printed in Rapture & Wright’s latest Paradise Flower design, available either with the pattern printed along the leading edge or the bottom of the panel.

We will supply the curtain pole, brackets, pleating rings and finials to match.  Choose from stainless steel in any diameter, 19mm black poles or a selection of our stained wood poles.  Select plain finials or go for one of our more decorative glass options for each set!

The set is available in 2.5m drops, as a single or double width pair of curtains. Curtain panels are pre-pleated and ready to hang!

Simply install the pole and cut the curtains to your required length (the wool doesn’t fray, so no need for any sewing!).

Looking back at 2012 | innovations and improvements

As ever, in 2012 our customer’s opinions were integral to our ever evolving design programme and many of our new products were created in direct response to feedback and requests from you!

We introduced an architrave bracket, updated our recess bracket design to include an integrated ring stop and simpler fitting and brought in interim and ceiling fix brackets for our tracked poles,  in response to the growing trend for ever longer window spans.

In the current climate price is often a key issue for our customers and with this in mind we introduced a new 30mm diameter budget range, in addition to our existing 19mm budget pole sets.

We are also proud of our new finial designs, six new shapes and over 30 additional colours are now available, broadening our already extensive range.  In response to demand our new finials are larger and bolder.

In addition we reworked our brochure and price list to make it simpler and quicker to specify and quote and to view our pole and finial ranges at a glance.

Merry Christmas!

Here at Walcot we’re very much enjoying the crisp frosty weather we’ve been having. Set in our beautiful location on the edge of the Cotswolds coming to work each day is as beautiful as it is varied. Here are a few snaps taken this morning!

Of course one of the best things about the cold weather is getting back inside for a hot beverage!

Walcot House will be closed from Monday 24^th of December until Tuesday 1^st of January 2013 inclusive for the Festive period.

Acrylic Sphere | designer’s favourite!

We have been receiving lots of lovely feedback about our new brochure and product designs, and after counting up all your reply slips it seems the most popular of our new finial designs is……..our Acrylic Sphere.

After talking to our customers we realised there was huge demand for a finial to match our popular 50mm acrylic poles. We came up with this simple, versatile design, believe it or not our first ever spherical shaped finial in 13 years!

We have been carefully developing some beautiful new finial designs and we are pleased to announce that two of our new range are now available to order!  Here at Walcot we pride ourselves on having an incredibly wide range of unique finials to make your drapery system really special.

A timeless classic, the Sierra finial combines a striking silhouette with a unique faux-shagreen finish. We have choosen a soft neutral palette of subtle natural colours. The Sierra finial is available with one, two or three stones, to mix and match, much like our popular moonstone range.

Caviar two-stone Sierra finial on a 50mm diameter stained graphite wood pole.

Sierra is available on 30mm or 50mm diameter poles.

Thistle two-stone Sierra finial on a 50mm lacquered dove pole.

Also available now, the Java finial is a perfectly balanced, richly textured finial available in the same colour palette.
